A Raven in the Desert

A Raven knife came along for a week in the Nevada desert at Burning Man 2012. It saw much use in the constructing of simple shelter and other tasks: cutting dusty rope, plastic bottles, wood carving, opening food packages, etc. Carried in a hip mounted sheath, it survived a very active week and many white-out dust storms. The Raven shook off the dust and came home still shaving sharp in spite of the sheath being packed full of dust and food residue crusted on the blade. It was simply washed with soap and water, then dried and oiled. After the cleanup the Raven looked shiny and new, with no scuff marks at all, like it had never left home.
